The all-new Trikke T7C is a fully convertible model that can accept 6-8 inch poly-urethane wheels and 8.5 inch air tires. This carving machine is presented at an affordable price from $169 to 179. Assembly requires a bit more than what we are used to with Trikke, but one needn't fret. The Trikke T7 shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to set up (and that's being generous).

In the beginning when Trikke started out, There were four main versions of the carving vehicle. We had the T5, T6, T7 and the timeless T8. The numbers represent the wheel size with a frame to match. A Trikke sized for everyone in the family.

They were all polished aluminum beauties. There weren't any color choices, except for the wheels. Over the years many of these models either changed or were replaced. With all the current carving vehicles in the Trikke line-up, It seemed now was the time to fill a gap. What gap you ask? A gap that brings performance, versatility and affordability to the entry level consumer. While there are a full line of standard fold-able Trikke's available, one model that faded into the history books, the T7, has come back to us with a whole new look.

The relationship between the three-wheel wonder known as the Trikke and the city of Long Beach, CA, just got a little friendlier after Mayor Bob Foster and Councilwoman Rae Gabelich were introduced to yet another bike-like alternative for the most bike friendly city in America.

The meeting took place on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood at a press conference highlighting the city’s Bike Friendly Districts, designated areas where local businesses and residents are encouraged to cycle their way to discounts, better health and a more active community.

The diverse, urban beach town with half a million residents is in the midst of a decades-long makeover that’s turning Long Beach into, not only the most bike friendly city, but the most bike-alternative friendly city as well.

A total of 45 So Cal carvers rock and rolled their way along the Pacific Coast during today’s Last Saturday of the Month Ride in Long Beach, setting a new attendance record for a group Trikke ride in Southern California.

The May edition of the LSM Ride, sponsored by SouthBay Trikke, Long Beach Trikkers and TrikkeWorld Magazine, signaled the unofficial start of the summer season for the So Cal Trikke Circuit, which includes endurance rides in Orange and Ventura Counties over the next two weekends.

She could have had Harry Winston adorn her with a diamond encrusted necklace, or Gucci design her a little black dress, but for last night’s 36th annual Gracie Awards honoring women in the media, talent agent Heather Cohen of the Weiss Agency chose a different kind of fashion statement: a little black dress and a white Trikke Tribred Pon-e.

Today reality hit me like a ton of bricks. I had a situation where a customer came in for a tire change. The trikke owners are close friends of ours here at SouthBay Trikke. My customers were sitting, chatting it up with me. Mary Lou on a stool to my left and Dave in a chair to my right.

Making the right choice when buying a trikke can really affect how well you progress. Learning to ride a trikke is not difficult but takes a bit of practice to get the groove on. If you start off on a model that does not fit you, riding can be a bit more challenging.

I had a conversation with a gal who wanted to purchase a Trikke for her grandson, she had no idea which model would work best for her family member. The best possible way to know for sure is to actually go and see one for your self and stand next to it. That is not always an option. Although Spring sprung upon these tendrils of the Rockies with rain showers and wildflowers — today (April 23) we’re socked in with a massive snow event! Between the rain and snow storms, I’ve managed to get in the first Trikke Lessons of the season — the first being a great gentleman who trekked all the way up to me from El Paso with his new T8A.

After the intro lesson, and making assurances that he’d get past the initial frustration and get rolling — and putting him on my T12 and TPone – so he could feel the joy of riding other Ts — he’s ordered a T12 for himself – and a T67 for his grand daughter!

An Ode to Skki

Blasting over the snow dunes on Capitan. Carving down a lift line in the thickest of powder puffs and tuffs – without eating it. Having Apache Bowl, with its wild ass terrain and untouched powder – all to myself – for nearly two hours. Blazing through the trees into the deepest marshmallow cream sandwich.

Taking all the runs – even the blackest of Diamonds – with no fear. Since the first snowfall of the ‘Ski’ season up here in the Sacramento Mountains of South Central New Mexico — I’ve been up on the slopes of the southern most Ski Area in the Northern Hemisphere! The snow events have come like clock work — in big dumps, at once a week – or every other week – since last Thanksgiving Day!

I’d been threatening to get a Trikke with a battery for a long time, despite the disapproval of a couple of people in the DFW Trikke group (those pesky purists). I wasn’t discouraged by the shunning that I imagined they’d give me when I joined them one Sunday morning with my new battery-operated Trikke.

At last one day, assured that I could live with the disdain of my fellow Trikkers, I set out to finally buy a Pon-e. My local dealer had no Pon-es , so I had to go elsewhere, crossing state lines and going to unfamiliar territory.

Can you install an Ekit on a T78air?

I recently received a request to install an ekit on a T78air. Yes we can install the e-kit on this trikke but we need to upgrade a few things to make it a good marriage. First off, the ekit itself weighs in at about 30 lbs which is a significant increase to the overall size of the T78air. The T78air Deluxe comes with the upgrades already in place.

Having Gildo Beleski and John Simpson was just a bonus. Great future for Trikke and all that get involved.

What a great group at the Academy this weekend. There were 30 new trainer and dealer folks ready to bring the trikke experience to a venue near you. From Oregon to New york and everywhere in between. Fred, Ann, Sean, Irene, Corey, and myself all did a fabulous job of helping everyone understand the product.

Monday, March 15 – (beware the ‘Ides of March’) — Ski Apache – cruising the 12 mile accent to the mountain madness that is Spring Break. To understand just how many ‘breakers’ and families have hit town — the ride up to Apache took almost 2 hours, instead of the usual 20 to 30 minutes! Along with the usual long line of cars and trucks — a couple of city sized RVs and a massive horse trailer were also winding their way up — which I assumed was the reason for the slow going — but then a Tow Truck with a seriously crumpled car (looked like a roll-over) came barreling down.

Grabbed my Skki gear and rambled on up Ski Run Road to Apache. It’s Spring Break now, and hundreds of kids and co-eds have sprung forth upon Ruidoso. Up on the slopes, it was a three-ringed obstacle course of chaos. The trumpet call has gone out that the mountain had two feet of new snowfall a day and a half ago. Every type of snow sport enthusiast was present. The temps are climbing in sync with the season so a lot of the snow was turning to slush.

Andy: Wow! That is incredible. The long awaited Trikke E-kit finally got here. One thing you notice right off is the weight that has been added to the Trikke. The e-kit has a lot of torque which creates a new sensation while riding the T12. The high & low switch allows you to change speed quickly, and acceleration is quite good. The added weight on the downhill is a nice feature, allowing to finesse the extra mass back & forth allows it to propel itself.

Anyone can ride the E Trikke. On my first test run around the block I ran into a neighbor who tried the Trikke for the first time and was really excited about coming to the next demo. The ETrikke is stable and aggressive. Make sure & tune your brakes before you ride your e-kit.

Stem post with plug

Today I had a interesting fix.
Way who is an avid rider, yeh he rides 20 miles at a pop every time he takes his trikke out, had a clicking in the column. Well I always go right to the bearings in the steering head and give it a tug back and forth on the column. And usually I am right, hmm not this time. His column was tight as can be. So I then took it for a test spin and sure enough there was a small click. Now we have to really take a close look at things to start eliminating. First off the trailing arm was a tad loose when fully extended.

T12 Roadster Gets a T10 ekit

When Trikke Tech first released the Ekit in late 2008 and the beginning of 2009, there were 2 options. You could acquire the Electrified package in either a 12″ inch front hub or a 10″ inch front hub. Both versions pack 250Watts of muscle and powered b y the 3x 12 volt batteries in a series to give you the 36V needed to drive that hub. On a T12 one would mount a 12″ ekit. For the T8 it was the T10 hub.

Trikke bent disc

Hey Andy!
How’s things… family…the crew, et al? I hope all is good.
As much as I’d rather bounce over to your pad and have an expert fix this… I’m currently back at home base in New Mexico, so – that option isn’t going to work.

My PONE has a problem brake disc. I’ve taken it off and pounded a bit with a rubber mallet. I’ve tried to bend it into shape – but seemingly – to no avail! My dad is grabbing two metal plates so I can try pounding/pressing the disc.
The disc looks like it’s ‘bowled’ ! Do you have any tricks – advice? I’ll order some new ones soon – I have a feeling I’m going to need them! I finally POPPED my FIRST tire this morning on my T8

I was trikking here in Costa Mesa on Tuesday and felt the right footpad was bending inwards, uh oh. The handlebar column was mushy too. I got off and looked at the Trikke and it looked like the right pedal was bent outwards. When I got back on, the welded joint up at the front cracked. Ugh!

Why buy a Pon-e?
Why in the world would someone who likes to Trikke and get exercise buy a Trikke with a battery on it?
I managed to come up with some very good reasons.
First, I want to say that until I bought my Trikke, I never realized how many hills there were in Texas. I’m talking hills that will stop you dead in your tracks. I never noticed them before. As a matter of fact, after I bought my Trikke, I think the area experienced some sort of secret earthquake that changed the land. Suddenly in my own cul-de-sac, we had a hill.

Which Trikke is right for me?

One of the most common questions asked of me is “Which Trikke should I purchase or is right for me?”. There really is no right answer to this. Besides price point, which is probably the biggest issue, all of the rides are up for the challenge. I am a taller guy at 6′3″ and I ride them all. Yes the T12 is by far my favorite but not just because it’s bigger. Mostly I like the riding style of the larger Trikke. The Roadster has longer strides due to its higher center of gravity and is great for those long rides. It takes less effort to ride than the T8.

Fairwell to lead acid batteries

Well it has come to an end. The lead acid battery Ekit’s are no longer. Trikke has decided to forgo any more movement on this kit. The demand was weak for the heavy unit. It weighed in at 38lbs plus the weight of the Trikke it was applied to. The replacement option at this point is to get a Pone. The Pone is the new lithium powered Trikke that doubles the power and strength of the former. I have been asking about a lithium kit but as of yet it has not made the drawing table. You will see a line of new Tribreds coming out to fill the void.

One of the coolest things I get to do lately is take my son to school on my pone. See lil Drew just started kindergarden and he really enjoys our ride to school. We suit him up with his helmut and shades. Grab the back pack and toss into the cargo net and mount up.

I have put a pad on the gooseneck for those sudden stops. As will pull out of the driveway he always asks to handle the throttle. Love it, the kids got no fear. Full wide open all the way. Now I have been riding motocross and desert riding seems like forever on a CR500. So I like to go fast over everything.

I mean, fresh… enough for you to get stuck. It did happen to me.
I was commuting on the new tribreds 350W (it’s fast) on this path that takes me home from Trikke office. I travel through it every day. I knew they would be fixing it soon, I saw marks (spray) on the floor this week … the junction had a small lip.

Coming out of this turn, at about 16mph (already slowing down to cross the street), I saw the orange posts on the side of the track, but the track was still open… 3 feet from the fresh cement section I realized what was going on, the contrast of the floor made sense too late and I had no time to stop or go around it. My instinct was giving a little pull up on handlebar and try to float over that section, but as soon as the tires hit the mushy cement, all my weight went towards the handlebar because the trikke started digging in the cement. It was ok for a fraction of second, (you can clearly see the progression of the depth of the grooves) until my front wheel hit the next section’s hard lip.

Trikke Tech, the designer and developer of its patented three-point carving vehicles, announced the release of the electric Trikke uPT (ultralight Personal Transporter) at the Dubai International Boat Show last week.

Trikke was exhibiting at the show in partnership with Bond Trading. Trikke anticipates that consumers, municipalities, resorts and other vertical markets will view the Trikke uPT as a breakthrough product because it can easily be used for commuter transportation, staff and security mobility on large properties, destination tours and recreation. As well, it is a green transportation choice and extremely lightweight, requires very little mainten! ance, and is easily collapsible for transport and storage.

Kenny Metcalf to me..........

Andy.. here are the pics from my 2 day conversion. Friday morning I tore apart my T8, put the parts in a bucket, and proceeded to sand down the T8. I primered the parts with white acrylic primer. Next coat was Dupli-Color Metalic specks (silver), and by Friday evening I even had the Dupli-Color Red Candy applied to the leg arms of the T8.
Saturday morning, I proceeded to paint the next assembly, front forks silver metal specks, followed by candy red. I dropped by SBT to pick up new T8 brake cables, headed back, and found everything dry enough for Dupli-Color Clear coat.
